Care Instructions
Nursing Information
The Online Retro Jersey collection pays homage to football's golden era and caters to vintage jersey enthusiasts. Crafted from special fabrics that replicate classic textures, these jerseys ensure comfort while faithfully recreating retro aesthetics.
While the Online Retro Jersey boasts durable construction and solid craftsmanship, its precious vintage prints and classic fabrics are not indestructible. Follow the care instructions below to prolong the product's lifespan and preserve the jersey's timeless retro charm.
Washing instructions
All Online Retro Jersey football shirts feature care symbols printed inside. Follow these instructions to maximize longevity:
When washing, fully zip any zippers and fasten buttons. Turn the shirt inside out to prevent zippers and buttons from snagging other garments in the washing machine. This also protects details like vintage prints and team crests from abrasion or fading.
Wash in lukewarm water at a maximum temperature of 30°C/86°F to prevent high heat from damaging the retro fabric texture and print durability.
We recommend washing retro football jerseys separately to avoid friction with stiff fabrics like denim or canvas, or garments with sharp components, which can cause pilling or print damage.
Use a small amount of mild liquid detergent. Avoid powder detergents or products containing fabric softeners, stain removers, or bleach, as these may compromise the performance and color stability of vintage fabrics.
Hang dry or lay flat outdoors to extend fabric longevity. Avoid direct sunlight during drying (to prevent fading of vintage colors). Avoid tumble drying whenever possible. Do not iron (high heat damages prints and fabric structure).
Other Tips
After watching a classic match or wearing your vintage jersey out, you'll likely want to wash it immediately. However, hanging your retro football jersey on a rack in a well-ventilated area can still prevent bacterial growth. This allows the jersey to dry thoroughly while maintaining a fresh feel for next wear. For stains like beverage spills or light dust, gently rinse the affected area with cold water before hanging to prevent stubborn buildup (avoid rubbing printed areas vigorously).
Place vintage football jerseys in a soft laundry bag or lingerie bag before washing. This prevents belts (if present), buttons, and other components from tangling with other garments or the washing machine drum, minimizing unnecessary friction damage.
When hand-washing, gently squeeze out water by wrapping each jersey individually in a clean towel (never twist or wring to prevent fabric distortion and print peeling). This accelerates drying time during outdoor air-drying while better protecting jersey details.
